Olympic Weightlifting Class at Pittsburgh Barbell October 8 - November 14, 2018

The Pittsburgh Barbell Club is pleased to announce a new Olympic Weightlifting Class meeting each Monday and Wednesday at 7 PM beginning October 8th and ending on November 14. Olympic Weightlifting is a sport in which athletes perform just two lifts – The Snatch and the Clean & Jerk. The class is intended for beginners who'd like to learn how to do the lifts properly as well as for anyone who would like to improve their lifting technique for Crossfit or other sports. The class will meet 12 times over 6 weeks and will teach basic techniques of Snatch and Clean & Jerk lifts. The class is designed for athletes to learn a safe and effective way to master proper squatting techniques and introductory strength training movements and exercises.

Weightlifting training develops strength, speed, power, flexibility, coordination and balance, and has become the preferred way for athletes in all sports to improve their performance. So whether you want to pursue Weightlifting as a sport, help improve your performance in your own sport or simply experience the "king of strength sports" sign up now! Instruction by USA Weightlifting National Coach Regis Becker and USAW Level 1 Certified Coach Chis Redding.

Anyone who trains at Pittsburgh Barbell Club must sign a waiver and be a member of USA Weightlifting.
